Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER)
The ER is important to the growth of the hormones and other secretory products. The ER when viewed with a microscope looks very strange because the first layer of the ER is very smooth but really appears to be rough. The second layer of the ER is rough due to the ribosomes on the membrane surface.
