New York

New York was founded on July 26, 1788. It's nickname is "The Empire State."

The design on the New York quarter is The Statue of Liberty which represents when France gave it to The United States as a gift on October 28, 1886. Words saying "The Gateway To Freedom" representing that people came to New York through Ellis Island to be free. 11 stars which remind us that they were the 11th state to join The U.S.
