Delaware

Delaware was founded on December 7, 1787. Delaware was the first state of the United States of America. The capital of the state is Dover. The nickname for the state comes form the number state was to join the country- "The First State."
Delaware has a very interesting symbol on it's state quarter. It is Caesar Rodney riding his horse. The history of the symbol is interesting: Rodney was riding his horse to cast a vote for his county, Delaware. The reason why the state has this symbol is because Caesar lived a long way from where he had to cast a vote. He had such great pride for Delaware.
Delaware was the first quarter out. It came out in 1999.
