My Story

Hi,
    I am Maria and I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  I live and go to school in Albuquerque.  I spend my summers in Kayenta, Az.  That is where my Grandfather lives.  I also spend the summers in Crownpoint, New Mexico.  That is where my Grandmother lives.  Both Kayenta and Crownpoint are located on the Navajo Reservation.  I am born for my Moms Salt clan.

    When I go visit my Grandparents, I help I with the sheep.  One day my cousin and I where asked to heard the sheep behind the rocks.  My cousin and I were watching the sheep and the sheep went in different sections and we lost most of them except 3.  We found them on the other side of  the mesa.  We then herded all the sheep back home.  I told my Grandmother, she got very mad about us loosing the sheep.
