The Kids Guide To The Civil War-Gettysburg

Gettysburg

The war had been raging for almost most a year, and the C.S.A.(also called the Confederate states of America ) had been winning and had pushed the Union all the way back to Pennsylvania, were they now were clashing in battle. The battle would rage for three days and the Union would push the Confederates off the Union States, Border States, and the territories.

There were a lot of casualties for the North in the first day, but the north fell back and took the high ground. On the third day the Union charged down on top of the Confederates, and the Confederates turned around and ran, and were eventually pushed back to Richmond. Then U.S.Grant seiged them until R.E.Lee retreated to the Rocky Mountains, and surrendered at Appamattox courthouse, and the war was over.
