We were each assigned
two seats on the bus. It is so important to have two seats to
yourself when you spend as much time traveling on a bus as we
did. This is probably a good point to negotiate before signing
the contract (if you're in a negotiating position that is.) We
were all fortunate to be given this without asking.
Thanks again, Big League!
There was one bus for the
adult cast and musicians and another bus basically for the children
and the parents. The tutors, the musical director and her husband
and one of the musicians were also on the kid's bus. Eventually,
a couple of people volunteered to come off the adult cast bus
and onto the children's bus so that, everyone on the adult bus
could also call two seats their own.
On the adult bus, they
slept and watched movies. What a life!! On the children's bus,
we only got to watch movies when school was over and we hadn't
arrived at our destination.
Our crew traveled on a
third bus. This bus was the crew's living space except on longer
engagements when they would have a hotel room. The crew bus had
bunks, a refrigerator, microwave and TV. Yes, all the comforts
of home
....
The crew loaded out the
sets after the final performance in a location. On one-nighters,
after loading out the sets, they traveled at night and loaded
in the sets in the morning. We, on the other hand, slept overnight
in the hotel and traveled during the day.
