An Important Tip

It's not easy to make it in show business and unfortunately, there are scam artists who will take your money and promise you acting jobs but, not deliver.

You should never have to pay anyone money up-front to get an audition or to get a job in the business.

Don't believe anyone who tells you that, for a fee, they can guarantee you a job or an audition.

Don't believe anyone who tells you that if you take lessons for whatever price, you will be guaranteed a job in the business or an audition.

Talent agencies and managers do not charge a fee payable in advance. Agents and Managers work for a percentage of their client's earnings as a performer (usually, Agents get 10% and Managers 15%) You should not have to pay any money up-front.

If a talent agent seeks to send you to a photographer for pictures, chances are he is not legitamate and is making his/her money by splitting the fee with the photographer.

Remember that legitamate talent agencies and managers do not advertise to get clients and they don't solicit through the mail. In fact, it isn't even easy to get a legitamate agent or manager to represent you.
