The First Steps In The Process |
|
Get Head Shots- Besides the traditional shoot (indoors with 8x10s and negatives provided) there are photographers who will shoot rolls of film, usually outdoor shots, for a flat price per roll.
Type a Resume'- Your resume should be only one page
in length. Cut down your resume' to 8"x10", the same
size as your head shot. Attach each resume to the back of the
photo by stapling one staple at the top center of the photo.
Staple the resume' with the print side visible. In other words,
the resume and head shot should be back to back. Click here to see Sample
Resume' Click here to see
Resume' Instructions provided and recommended
by my Manager, Lois Miller. I also included a sample of my resume'
that was based on these instructions. Audition Notices- Check Backstage weekly and network.
If you have an agent or manager, they will send you for auditions,
interviews and go sees. Mailings- Send your head shot with a resume and
cover letter to agents and managers (check the Ross Reports and/or
http:// www.sag.com/department.html for a list of agents) stating
that you are looking for representation. Its not easy to get
agents or managers to represent you. They may be more receptive
when someone they know introduces you to them. Ask about agents/managers
and for referrals from friends you may meet in the business,
or from casting personnel you may meet. Network. Good Luck! |
