Preserving  Buildings

Many of the urban cities have old buildings. In New York some buildings are over 200 hundred years old and people have become attached to them. Some of those buildings are very unique because they are one of a kind. In New York, we have the Empire state building, which was at one time the tallest building in the World. Some neighborhoods are famous because the houses are very unique. Bedford Stuyvesant and Harlem are famous for there one of kind brown stones. In New York we have the Landmark Commission, which ensures that building with historical value are saved and not destroyed. Buildings are worth preserving for many reasons:

1)      They help keep the character of the neighborhood.

2)      They serve as a link between past and present

They reduce the cost of construction since most of their parts  will be reused or recycled.
