Location And Population

Egypt officially  called the Arab Republic of Egypt  is located in the northern part of Africa. Its  capital is Cairo.

Its recorded history dates back to around 3200BC .Its ancient civilization can be attributed to the development of many things which we are still using today.. It was one of the first civilizations to use and develop irrigated agriculture. Its ancient civilization learned to bake bread,  make paper , brew beer and glaze pottery not to mention the building of the great  pyramids and temples which are still standing to this day.

Egypt's strategic location between Asia and Africa and on the route between the Mediterranean basin and India and China made it an important hub of international trade and many countries tried to conquer it. It was colonized and occupied by many different people and that influenced the society.

The population has grown tremendously and expansion into its deserts now is being done on a large scale.

Since the population has now reached over 65 million  (about 68.4 million an annual growth rate of 1.72%) new cities are being constructed  to relieve the terrible overcrowding in the cities. New technologies and the increase in the use of private industries to build has also had an influence on increased building in the desert land.
