 Geodes

Geodes are very neat. They come in series of colors and are unusual to find in places other then specific geode sites. People can go to some of these geode sites, but others are private property.
Most geodes are round rocks that are plain on the outside. They are formed in the volcano's lava and are formed around the bubbles. Through time, liquid seeps through the rock and it crystallizes on the inside of the rock.
The way to get inside a geode is to saw or hammer it open. If you saw it open, it will leave a nice smooth, flat finish. If you hammer it open, it will leave more of a natural look.
Geodes are treasured for their unusual colors and patterns. If your geode is small enough you can see a jeweler to polish it and if desired you can have it made into a jewelry piece to wear or just keep it for your rock collection.
