There are some good opening strategies and they might help you beginners win more games or start your games better. You should almost always open with the middle pawns or the Knights. The moves for white should be: Pawn D4 for the first move, and Pawn E4 for the second move. For black you would open with: Pawn D5 for the first and Pawn E5 for the second. This puts a good threat to the king and queen because with one move of a pawn and the opponent’s King and Queen are in trouble.

You could also move the Knights to take control of the center. You could move Knight C3 for the first and Knight F3 for the second. This is a powerful way to take the center early.

If you want more control of the center, than move the Knights first and then move the pawns. This gives major control of the center to you and later could be to your advantage.

You also need to remember to bring out your Knights before your Bishops. This is a good way to protect your Bishops because of how the Knight moves.

One good way to start the game to protect your King is by this opening. It goes: White- 1.Knight to F3, 2.pawn to G3, 3.Bishop to G2, 4.O-O or (castle kingside in special moves). This is a heavy protection for your King. Black would be just the opposite: White- 1. Knight F6, 2. Pawn G6, 3. Bishop G7, 4 and last O-O (castle King side, see special moves).
