A man named Walter Camp played football for Yale University. When he played football he didn't like the rules they played with. So he changed the rules. He also made up touchdowns, downs, and yards. Therefore you can say he is the one that invented football. He made football more exciting. Then shortly after that they made up more high school football teams.
