COLLEGE BOWL GAMES

In the fall college teams play eleven games generally. Trips are awarded to the best college teams. These bowl games match outstanding teams against each other. At Pasadena, California in the year 1902, the tradition began with Stanford University competing against the University of Michigan on New Year's Day. Soon this event became the celebrated "Rose Bowl." Other bowl Games include the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas; the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida, and the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana. In honor of the great public interest in the games, businesses now sponsor many of the bowl games.
