A football player must condition his body to absorb heavy blows. Muscles, ligaments, and tendons are often stretched quickly and in different directions. You need to exercise to prepare your body to work at top performance. It's important to do weight lifting to keep your body in good shape. Players do lots of running, stretching, and hi-knee exercises to stay in shape and prevent injuries. It is also important that players are tough mentally as well as physically. Coaches welcome players with strong will, pride, and morale. They like players that are determined to play.
1) Be sure to get lots of sleep. You need at least 8 hours of sleep per day. 2) Keep your body clean. 3) Eat three meals a day. 4) Drink plenty of water. 5) Don't smoke. You need your lungs to be able to work at full capacity. 6) Avoid alcohol. It's bad for any person and especially an athlete. 7) Avoid using drugs not given to you by your doctor. |
