It is used as a sacrifice to the Kitchen God to keep his mouth shut. Another food is Tang yuan. It is a sweet rice ball stuffed with sweet or spicy filling. Jiaozi is a Chinese dumpling boiled in water. The Chinese people also eat Ginkgo nut which represents a silver ingot. They also eat black moss seaweed fresh or dried been curd and bamboo shoots.
