The Royal Mausleum

In 1863 king kamehameha the IV set aside a plot in Nuuanu for a royal mausoleum. In 1864 the royal mausoleum was built . It was built for the Hawaiian royalty and it was the first burial place for the Hawaiian royalty.

The royal mausoleum was a small chapel. The royal mausoleum was built by the same people who built the Iolani Palace

The entrence to the grounds of the royal mausoleum is by heavy wrought-iron gates bearing the seal of the royal mausoleum also buried in it are five foreigners who had married royalty.
