Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the Heart and Soul of Bishop Musuem

Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop was born on December 1831 in Honolulu. She got married to Charles Reed Bishop on June 4,1850 in the parlor of the Royal School . Bernice Pauahi Bishop died after coming home from a surgery that happened because she had cancer on October 16,1884.

Princess Bernice was the founder of the Kamehameha Schools. She was the dreamer for Bishop Museum wich was built by her husband shortly after she died .

Princess Bernice Pauahi was given a house called Haleakala. It is 6,0000 acres of land. It was left to her by her father Paki in 1855. It is on Oahu.

Pauahi`s family had hoped she would marry King Lot. e\Even though her parents wanted her to marry King Lot she didn`t. She married Charles Reed Bishop because she had loved him.
