Pope Julius II recalled Michelangelo

in 1505 for two commissions. Michelangelo's

most important work was the frescoes on the

Sistine Chapel ceiling. Michelangelo laid on

his back while painting. He painted between 1508 and 1512, creating some of his finest work

of all time. Michelangelo's creations in the Sistine Chapel include Adam and Eve, the temptation and fall of Adam and Eve, and the flood.

Michelangelo's understanding of the human body and movement, changed paintings in the west.
