After ImagesAfter images cause you to see motion and color where there is none. An optical illusion of this type may ask you to look at a brightly colored American flag, then look at a plain piece of white paper. You would see an after image of the American flag in the right colors. Looking at some of these images and then looking away causes you to see spots where none exist. There are simply after images, or images that your eye hangs onto for awhile even after you are done looking at something. There are both black & white and color after images, as well as motion after images.
Stare at the dot in the center of any of the spots blocks above. Count to 30. Then look at the spot in the center of the beast for a while. Spots will appear to cover it and the they will be the opposite color of the spot you first stared at. To see some examples, click here.
