NewYork City is full of people seeking oportunities for a whole new world. Some of the people you see might even be famous movie stars, dancers, or singers. But, most of the people are just normal like you or me hopping to buissnesses. New York City has a huge variety of food, from every culture. Some of them include American, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Greek, and many, many more. There are also unusual combinations such as Cuban-Chinese. New York city has many expensive five start resturants as well as reasonable priced resturants. For example you can go from Tavern on the Greens or 21 Club to a hot dog vender on just about any street. Now if you want pizza, New York City has it, but you must eat it the New York way (fold it in half before you eat it). New York City is a diner's heaven. Huge shopping buildings, such as Macy's line the streets of New York City. You don't just find a mall with little stores in it. You find a huge building with only one store but many floors. As you waIk down 5th Avenue, you will see small stores. To get into these stores you might have to ring a bell and wait for the store keeper to unlock the door. (I don't blame them for that. Would you want a robber to come in a steal something expensive?) You can find everything you need in New York City from designer clothes that are actually sold by the designer themselves, to top of the line toys at F.A.O. Schwartz, to the finest of jewels from Tiffany's. Yes, New York City is a shopper's paradise. New York City has a ton of sites. There are so many you probably would not have time for all of them unless you want to stay a month. Here are a few. Central Park - This park is located in Manhattan. It is a big grassy area with trees in the center. Here you can find Cleopatra's Needle, Central Park Lake, and a small zoo. Brooklyn Bridge- This bridge is one of the world's longest suspension bridges. It is located between Manhattan and Brooklyn. Today many pedestrians walk across it. The Statue of Liberty- This statue was given to the United States as a gift of friendship from France in the mid 1800's. It is a figure of a woman holding a torch with one raised arm and also holding a book. A trip here is very exciting.

Chrysler Building- This is one of New York City's first skyscrapers. It was built in 1933 (and is still one of the most beautiful. You can not ride to the top, but at night you can see its night-lit spire. This is one of the most beautifil sights in New York City. For it's one it's one, two, three, strikes your out at the old ball game!! Yes you guessed it, baseball is one of the biggest sports in New York City. They are the proud home to not one but two of the greatest baseball teams of all times. The New York Yankees and the New York Mets. The Yankees have been in the World Series over 20 times. In the 2000 World Series, both teams played... and the Yankees won! New York baseball teams have also produced many great players such as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DaMaggio, and Mickey Mantle. Football, Football, Football!!! Again not one but two teams. New York Giants and the New York Jets. Last but not least basketball is a beloved sport in New York City. The New York Knickerbackers, also known as the Knicks, has one of the largest fan followers of any basketball team. If you're into sports, this is your city! New York City is one of the most cultural places you will find. The culture in New York City has two different meaning. One meaning of culture is the many different ethnic groups that live throughout the city. They live and work in many different sections such as Chinatown, East Village, Greenwich Village, Harlem, Little Italy and Soho. Each of these sections have their own unique culture. The second kind of culture is the arts, which include dance, the theater and art. There are many performing arts schools that teach dance and theater. If you become one of the lucky ones you may end up in the New York City Ballet Company, on Broadway or in the next blockbuster movie. There are also many art schools and museums such as American Craft Museum, Amencan Musem of National History, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Children's Museum of Manhattan, the list goes on and on.
