The holiest shrine of Judaism, the wailing wall, is located in Jerusalem. The wailing wall used to be a part of a holy temple. A Muslim shrine is the Golden Dome of the Rock.

The population of Jerusalem is 567,100. Even though there are not many people that live there, it is a great place to visit.
Jerusalem is a holy city for Christians, Jews, and Muslims, but most people are Jews. Oh, yeah! They have a lot of Muslims, too. You could say that they have a deep culture. Hebrew is the national language, and it is read right to left. Seventy percent of the people live in cities. Thirty percent, however, live in smaller cities, like Dan or Eilat.
Jerusalem is the capital of Isreal. It is one of the holiest cities in the world, it is also one of the oldest.Jewdism is a thriving culture because of all the Jewish history. Their Government is elected on a four year term.
Old Jerusalem was divided into five parts. One part is the temple mount for Jews. The other four are quoters for Christians and Muslins. The center of Old Jerusalem was alive with markets everywhere you turn. The streets were colorful and fragrant with the baking bread, sizzling meat, and exotic fruits.
Now the city is walled, but people still travel within it. I'm sure you have seen all the violence in the Middle East on the news. You can travel at your own risk.

The main airport in Isreal is Ben-Gurion International. It is about 50 miles(30km)from Jerusalem. Flying to Isreal, security checks are stringent. They might ask your itinerary, packing habbits, and desire to travel to Isreal. So be prepared.
