HOW TO MAKE A MUMMY
The first step in making a mummy is you take it to the embalmers. This is at the beautiful house. Then the embalmers make a cut in the corpse's side. They remove the liver and lungs. These organs are then placed in special jars called canopic jars. The brain was also removed. The heart stayed in the corpse for weighing in the life after death. The body was then covered with special crystals called natron. These crystals prevented the corpse from decaying. Then the body was stuffed with dry material like sawdust or even crumpled leaves. Then, for the last step,the corpse was then wrapped in linen bandages, and put in three to two golden coffins.
The reason a mummy was made, was because the Egyptians wanted to live on as a spirit in the after-life. They believed it was essential to let their souls live on.If your soul didn't live on after you died, you wouldn't exist and you'd be very unhappy.
