About Us

hatshepsutHatshepsut

Queen Hatshepsut was one of the few female Egyptian Pharaohs. She was one of the first Egyptian rulers to be buried in the Valley of the Kings rather than to build large tombs and Pyramids above ground because the remains in the Pyramids were being stolen and destroyed.

In spite of her secrecy to be buried to preserve her remains, today it is difficult to tell what she looked like because her likeness has been destroyed all over Egypt. Why? Her stepson was very young when his father died leaving Hatshepsut at the throne. When she died, her stepson King Tuthmosis III had all her statues destroyed.
