The life of a turtle depends on if its a herbivore or carnivore and where it lives, in the tropics, lakes, ponds, and deserts. Turtles and tortoises are chelonians.

Choosing a Turtle- If you want a turtle as a pet you should get one that is bred or born in captivity. The best places to find a turtle are, breeders, pet stores, and from the people who save turtles from the wild. Also, when you are looking to buy a turtle you need to make sure that it looks healthy, has a strong carapace, has bright eyes, a clean mouth and clear breathing, and a healthy appetite. When you buy your turtle, you can either keep it in-doors, out-doors, or a combination of both. Just make sure that it has a home to live in and a diet of its own, according to its species. Like every reptile, turtles need heat and light, also the freedom to move around whenever they want to.
