No matter what the species is, frogs and toads require a dark, moist environment. Also you need to provide them with plenty of shelter and, ideally, a hill of sphagnum moss that is moistened every few days with water from a spray bottle.

Choosing a frog or toad-When you choose a frog choose one with muscular legs, bright eyes, a healthy appetite, moist, evenly textured skin (free of wounds or fuzzy growths), and graceful movement.

Being Responsible- When you own a frog or a toad you should rarely hold them, and even then you should have clean, moist hands. Don't forget that your frog and toad both eat live food like live insects, fish, small lizards new born mice, smaller frogs or toads, meal worms, and earthworms. You should be careful not to feed your frog or toad garden bugs that have come in contact with pesticides.
