Skunks were very popular several years ago. Just a few of them are available today, because even descented skunks are difficult to keep. They sleep a lot, especially in the winter, and they can be troublesome when they are awake. If skunks are confined, or penned up, for long periods of time,they may become aggressive. In some cases, they may bite or scratch their owners. What does owning a skunk cost? Owning a skunk is similar to owning a cat as far as expenses go. Being Responsible- If a skunk happens to spray you the best way to get rid of the oder is to bury or burn your clothes and take a bath in tomato juice. Skunks will get in your garbage cans so you should put one or two bricks on the lid. You don't need to keep your skunk in a cage and it will stink your house up, so it's best to keep it in a barn.
