CAPE CRAFT 2

SCALLOP ANGELS

For our second craft we chose to use scallop shells again. We prepared them as before (see over the counter light prep), only this time we decided to make "scallop angels". Kristina brought in one she had made during the holidays.

MATERIALS:

Scallop shells  ( again ours were courtesy of the West Dennis sea gulls, Ms. Davis walks the beach every day)

One glue gun with glue sticks

Scissors

Twine or ribbon for hanging

Small wooden balls with pre-drilled hole

Glitter paint

PROCEDURE:

STEP 1

Clean and prepare according to previous instructions.  have an adult pre-drill a hole into the top of each shell.

STEP 2

(picture 1

STEP 3

(picture 2 and 3)

Cut a length of twine approximately 14", fold in half and loop through the wooden ball and the top of the angel, pushing it into the scallop shell. Make a knot in the end that went through the shell and knot the other end for hanging purposes.

STEP 4

(picture 4)

Using the sparkle paint decorate the shell as you choose. We did stripes, dots some even covered their entire shell! Let dry thoroughly before the ornament is used.

Hope you enjoyed our crafts!
