(pictures 5,6,7) Select 20 shells that match each other in size, as if they are closed shells. STEP 5.
(picture 8) After matching up all of your shells begin to glue them together.( with adult supervision of course). Start by gluing the bottoms, and then in spots along the edge of the shells. STEP 6.
(pictures 9, 10) Before the glue dries, place your light into the middle of the shell. Make sure that the shells will close together. Hold the shells together for about 2 minutes until the glue hardens. STEP 7.
(picture 11) Let your lights completely dry and set overnight before using them. These lights are used many places on the Cape Cod, particularly during the Christmas season. You see them over fireplaces, window sills and mixed with greens around the doors of historic Route 6A. They are reminiscent our our heritage and an earlier historical period.
