The Plateau Indians made their houses out of grass mats.
The Indian houses were shaped in a oval. The Indian families were large because their relatives lived with them. The Indians' houses had a big amount of space. The cause of their huge areas was that there were about twenty to twenty-five people living in a plateau house. The Indians lived in the eastern part of the state of Oregon.
