The three types of bicycles are the lightweight(ten-speed), the ATV(mountain bike), and the BMX(one-speed).
The main parts of a bicycle are the pedals, the handlebars, the wheels, the seat, the chain, and the gears.
When the pedals are pushed forward, the gear that the pedals are connected to turns. That causes the chain to move in the same direction as the pedals. Gears that are connected to the rear wheel and the moving chain causes that wheel to go forward. Then the push of the rear wheel causes the front wheel to move as well, therefore, gives the bicycle its forward motion. Your only brake is to pedal backwards, unless you are on a lightweight or an ATV, you will have handbrake levers on the handlebars. The left handbrake controls the front wheel, and the right handbrake cotrols the rear wheel.
