The northern right whale dolphin is an ocean dolphin. It can be found in the North Pacific near Japan, Alaska and California. The body of the northern right whale is similar to the southern right whale. The pectorals are small. The tail has a medium sized notch. The young are pale gray to brown. The adults have a white stomach and black back. These dolphins have 37 to 40 teeth on the upper jaw and 40 to 46 on the bottom jaw.
