The Heavisided Dolphin is a coastal dolphin. It can be found on the Coastal waters off South Africa, from Cape of Good Hope to Cape Cross. Heaviside's body is stocky. Its dorsal fin is low, triangular and falcate. The pectorals are small and black and the caudal fin has a median notch. This dolphin is blue-gray with a light gray cape at the head. The stomach has a gray flame with four well-defined uncolored areas. The fins are black.
