  Adult's have  dark gray backs with lighter sides  Babies are dark gray or dark pink.  The snout measures to approximately seven inches, but can reach 15 inches for the female.  The Ganges River Dolphin has cone shaped teeth.  They have a little developed dorsal fin which is triangular and flat.  The fin begins two-thirds down the back of the dolphin.  The eyes are very small and without a crystalline lens or epithelium

The Ganges River Dolphin population is  estimated at  approximately 5000. As many as 300 to 400 are believed to live in India, and about 40 in Nepal.
