It can be found in  the warm tropical and subtropical waters of the Atlantic Ocean.  The Clymene Dolphin's body is fusiform.  The pectoral fins, and the dorsal fin are rather small.  There is a long black robe that covers the back of the dolphin.  There is a grey band that goes from the melon to where the black robe ends.  The lower jaw, throat and stomach are white.  The tip of the beak, the lips, the pectoral fin, and the dorsal fin is black.  There are 38 to 49 small coned shaped teeth on both sides of both jaws.
