The Tucuxi Dolphin is a coastal and river dolphin. It can be found in the Amazon River basin, in the Rivers of Venezuela, Guyanas, on the Brazilian coast, and near San Paulo and Africa. The Tucuxi Dolphin's body is short and stocky. This dolphins morphology is similar to that of a Bottle Nosed dolphin. The snout is rather short and the dorsal fin is slightly triangular. The pectoral fins have a large base and the caudal fin has a rather pronounced median notch. The body of this dolphin is usually a gray brown turning a creamy white on the stomach. A pink coloration is sometimes seen on the lower jaw, and the throat level. There are 26 to 35 teeth on each side of the lower and upper jaw.
