The Chilean Dolphin is
a coastal dolphin. It can be found on the southern coast of Chile.
The Chilean Dolphin
has a small, and sturdy body, with a short and rounded head, and a
somewhat distinct snout. The dorsal fin is very low, triangular,
and median. The pectoral fins are small and the caudal has a
median notch. 28 to 31 small coned shaped teeth are on each
of the jaws. The Chilean Dolphin's back, and flanks are black, as
well as the pectoral, dorsal, and caudal fins. Under the throat,
and behind the pectoral fins are white. The blowhole area is
usually a smoky gray, and the lips are either a pale gray or
white.
