The Bottlenose dolphin is an oceanic and coastal dolphin. It can be found all over the world. The Bottlenose Dolphin has a slender and robust body. The melon of this dolphin is convex. The snout is short and wide. The dorsal fin is curved and tapered to a point, medium sized and is tall. The pectoral fins are relatively short and the flukes have a medium sized notch. The Bottlenose dolphin is dark gray on the back, and the stomach is white or pink. The flanks are light gray. The lower jaw is longer then the top jaw. There are 18 to 26 small coned-shaped teeth.
