The crew consisted of two people, John Young, and Robert Crippen.  They would be the first crew of a space shuttle to go into space.  The Columbia was very unique, it was also the first reusable spaceship.  History was written when it lifted off three seconds after 7:00 A.M. The crew could be very proud of themselves, they had just flown successfully in the first space shuttle.
