Pluto is the seventh planet from the Sun. Pluto was discovered in 1930. It is the smallest and farthest planet from the Sun. It has one moon Charon. Charon was discovered in 1978.

Pluto is normally the ninth planet from the Sun, but for twenty years during its orbit it goes inside Neptune's orbit. Pluto is now the ninth planet but was the eighth planet during part of the 70s all of the 80s and until 1999.

Little is known about Pluto, because it so far away. Maybe someday NASA will send more probes to the outer planets and learn more about the ninth planet.
