Gemini 3 launched on March 23 , 1965.Gemini 3 was the first manned Gemini mission. Its crew was Gus Grissom and John Young. Its purpose was to show an orbital flight that was manned. It also was to see if a two man crew would work. Gemini 3 got up to an altitude of 224km and made 3 orbits in 4 hours and 52 minutes.
