Amanda

Over the past four months I have learned what 5th graders feel, want, know, do, enjoy, and what they would do if they could. I have also learned what 5th graders are good at, and what they love. Personally, I have learned how to cooperate with my team. I learned what makes a 5th grader work or "tick." I learned what we enjoy, for example, we enjoy shopping, bright and dark colors, sports, and playing musical instruments.

My team met with a professional therapist and we discussed our surveys thoroughly. We put the items on the surveys into groups so that they would be easier to discuss. I enjoyed learning new things about my team members and myself. The professional therapist helped us to open up. For me, this was very interesting.

I now know why I feel good about myself. It is because of the encouragement I receive from my parents and friends. I also learned how to express my anger without hurting someone. I can do that by counting to ten and then walking away.

I didn't get all of this information from the therapist. I got more of it from my team. I have really enjoyed working with my team. We work so well together, and we are the best "tickers" you will ever find. We have all enjoyed beautifying and making our website. I like very much to work with new people and to learn new things. Perhaps that is also a part of what makes a 5th grade "tick."

Keep ticking,
Amanda
