Woof!I just love playing my ukulele, don't you?
Did you know that the ukulele was introduced to the Hawaiians by
Portugese cowboys, who brought the small guitar with them when they
came to the islands in the early 1800s?
The Hawaiians have been playing music since before they came to the islands. Their music grew from their stories and poems. They showed their love of nature in their songs.
They used musical instruments with their hula dances. They used drums and gourds, and beat time with sticks and stones.
