When an Accident Occurs

     If an accident occurs you should remember these things.

Evacuation Slides

  • Jump feet first.

  • Do not sit down to slide.

  • Place your arms across your chest with your elbows in and your legs and feet together.

  • Remove high-heeled shoes.

Rapid Decompression

  • Pull oxygen masks toward you to start the oxygen flow.

  • Put on your oxygen masks quickly.

  • Help children with their masks.

Evacuating the Aircraft

  • Follow the instructions of the crew members.

  • Stay calm and move quickly to the exit.

  • Leave all your possessions behind.

Fire or Smoke

Inflight

  • Use wet paper towels or a handkerchief over your nose and mouth.

  • Move away from the fire or smoke.

On the Ground

  • Stay low.

  • Move the number of seat you counted earlier to the exits or follow the lighting to an exit.

  • Exit the airplane.

  • Leave all your possessions behind.

Outside the Airplane

  • Move away from the airplane, fire, and smoke.

  • Help anyone who is hurt or needs guidance.

  • Watch for emergency vehicles.

  • Never go back into a burning airplane.

  • Leave all your possessions behind.
