     According to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 6 and 6.8 million crashes occur in the United States each year. Approximately .6% or 3600 of these accidents result in fatalities. Roughly 33% of the vehicle crashes involve injuries and 66% involve property damage only.

     The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report that 115 people die everyday in motor vehicle crashes. This is one person every 13 minutes everyday. Seventy of these fatalities are males, 35 females, and 10 children. The cost of these accidents total $414 million.
