Aloha Mr. Gen and Mrs. Yuko,

My name is Cherie Yamashiroya and I'm in the 6th grade. This is my third year participating in ThinkQuest and I have learned so many things. The first year I entered we did a site on space, the second year I did a site on voicing of kids opinions, and this year we're doing a site on World War II. I'm most excited about this topic because we learned a little about it in school. We're mostly focusing on the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Nagasaki, and Hiroshima. Also about the internment camps and how they treated the Japanese people. We're planning to interview such as my auntie because she was sent to an internment camp.

Some ways we could get in touch with each other is by chat, email, and net meeting. We came up with some questions for you and your students. Here they are:

1. What is it like in Hiroshima today?
2. What do you think of Pearl Harbor?
3. Do you have/know any survivors of the bomb or were affected by it?
4. How do you study about World War II in school?

We would also like to know if you could visit the Hiroshima Memorial Park for us and take some pictures for us also. If you want we'll go down to Pearl Harbor to the USS Missouri and take pictures for you.

If you have any questions you could email me at: cyama200@makani.k12.hi.us

Mahalo,

Cherie Yamashiroya
