![]() In our watershed there exists a small man-made wildlife sanctuary which is a habitat for three endangered species: the coot, moorhen, and stilt, and also many introduced birds and plants. This is the only part of Enchanted Lake (Kaelepulu Pond) that is considered a wetland!! In 1988, a developer was required by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to create a man-made wildlife sanctuary in Enchanted Lake to bring back wildlife and to conserve the endangered birds. Our wildlife sanctuary in our watershed is faced with two major threats: alien invaders and urbanization. |
