The mud crab's (Scylla serreta)
common name is the "Samoan Crab". The Samoan crab
is not native to Hawaii. It is a purplish brown
color with two large claws ending in sharp
pinchers. It likes to eat mollusks, crustaceans,
and small amounts of plants and debris. It can be
found in shallow waters of mangroves and
estuaries.
