Did you know that the greens of the dandelions can be steamed, sautéed and used in salads and contain more nutrients than spinach?

Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) comes from the family composite. It is an exotic plant (introduced) that came from Europe. This weed comes in many different varieties, but all of them have jagged-edged leaves.

The dandelion weed has little flowers that close at night and open in the daytime. These flowers turn into seed heads that look like white puff balls. Inside each seed head there can be up to two hundred seeds.
