Ahupua'a
composed by Gail Yoneshige

Misty clouds nestling 'round the mountain tops.
Tradewinds blow as waters flow from the heavens.
Sparkling streams pure and clean where we can stop
To gently wash all of the gifts we're given.

Chorus:

Ahupua'a, we are stewards of our land.
Waters flow from mountains to the sea.
Ahupua'a, let's conserve it while we can;
Life renewed for all, for you and me.

Fertile land along the slopes; a sight to see;
Swaying ulu branches and trees of koa.
Plant and harvest tender crop on bended knee;
Kalo and u'ala for our ohana.

Sturdy walls of lava rock, both big and small;
One by one were laid to surround the waters.
Fishes swim; they thrive and breed within these walls.
Let's live in harmony with one another.
